NIRU & LUSSIDOTTER release new single "DAGAZ I"
Today, the enigmatic duo NIRU & LUSSIDOTTER unveil their latest creation — DAGAZ I, a spontaneously improvised and recorded piece captured in early June, 2025.
This release marks the first in what may become a series inspired by the transformative rune Dagaz — symbol of awakening, breakthrough, and the meeting of night and day. In true NIRU & LUSSIDOTTER spirit, the piece carries an unfiltered emotional weight, born from the moment, unbound by structure or expectation.
Accompanying the piece is a poem written by Lussidotter, serving both as an invocation and a reflection of the energy within:

The poem, much like the music, holds several layers of meaning. “Each listener may find their own reflection in its lines,” the duo shares.
The artists recommend listening to DAGAZ I in a calm, undisturbed setting — preferably with good headphones — and with an open mind, ready to journey into the liminal space where flame meets flame.

A sonic and performative tribute to Tyra Kleen, at Bohusläns Museum.
We are pleased to announce that NIRU & LUSSIDOTTER will present a unique blend of sound and performance art at the vernissage of the exhibition ”Tyra Kleen – Ständigt sökande” \[Eng: ”Tyra Kleen – Constantly searching”\] at Bohusläns Museum, Uddevalla, on Saturday 31.5.2025.
Tyra Kleen (1871-1951) was an artist, spiritist and world traveler, who in the early 20th century broke free from conventions and chose her own path. In her search for the unknown, she encountered occult spheres in which she developed a symbolistic artistic expression that challenged the societal, religious and social norms of her time. As both an artist and an author she seemed driven to explore beyond borders.

Our performance is a sonic and performative tribute to Tyra Kleen’s life, vision and spirit, with one of her unpublished poems (visible on an artwork) as a source of inspiration: ”The Secret Tomb, La Fleur Macabre”. Lussidotter has translated this poem into Swedish, which will be weaved into the performance consisting of music, voice, movement and atmosphere. The performance piece, especially crafted for this occasion, invites the audience into a liminal space between worlds – where the search for the unseen becomes shared between the performers and the spectators. Expect an immersive experience that intertwines dark ambient soundscapes, expressive movement, voice and live instrumentation.

Bergets Mun (The Mount’s Mouth) opens like a chasm in the world, a place where silence becomes speech and the ancient stone exhales memory. The song transcends sound, into a resonance with something far older than tongue. It is the echo of the first voice that was - The Mount herself, awakening to speak up. The Mount’s Mouth whispers truths too vast to grasp with reason. It calls out not with force, but with a quiet persistence that seeps through the bones. Those who dare listen find not just words, but an invitation to descend inward, to the source veiled in depths of self and stone.
“They step afar, though afar is nigh”. The Mount has waited dormant, closeby, with her gate far into the unknown long forgotten - until her waking breath is heard, once more. The seekers are not led by light, but by resonance. They don’t follow sight, but the wind. It becomes their compass. As the Mount’s Mouth opens before them, like a bottomless well, a rite of communion commences - between the mortal and the eternal.
“So whispers my mouth, so they sing my chant” It is more than conversation: a fusion, a dissolution. The inherent melody of The Mount is sung back into her depth by human tongue.
“Our assembly shall echo - time, on time, on time...” An eternal recurrence. A cyclical return. The Mount does not forget. She rewards those who know her.
Within The Mount’s Mouth, we are asked to arrive fully, to not flee, to meet the origin.

Our First Live Performance
On May 3rd, we will perform at Dödsmässa in Uddevalla, Sweden. This will be the debut performance of our collaboration. We will open the stage, delivering a piece crafted for this occasion — partly improvised, shaped by shifting soundscapes for those with open minds to follow. Our project holds no rigid form; this time, we let ambient landscapes take the lead, to see what they summon from within us and those present...

We find ourselves deeply embedded in the creative process, an endless weaving of sound and vision that unfolds day and night, across multiple planes and dimensions. More than halfway through the recording of our debut album, we now stand at the threshold where only some the vocals, voices and finer details remain. The album’s concept is rooted in the grand weave that binds existence together, in the unseen forces of forest and beast. Musically, it traverses the landscapes of dark ambient, delicate interludes, and metal that leans toward the cold and abyssal, interwoven with poetry and lyrical recitations of varied form and character.

The Seed Has Been Sown
Through nights steeped in reverberations and shadows, we have given form to our first full-length incantation. The album is recorded, mixed, and breathing in the quiet of its own becoming. A creation forged in intensity, yet left to settle in its own time - like roots deepening beneath the frozen earth.
We do not rush the bloom. The echoes of our craft will rise when the season calls, unfurling in due course. Until then, we channel our energies into new creative currents and prepare for our first live offering, where sound and spirit will merge beneath the weight of the unseen.

The time has come to unveil a small glimpse of the collaboration between NIRU & LUSSIDOTTER. We are deep within the process of crafting a full-length album, one that will hold 10+ tracks within its restless heart. The foundations are laid, the bones are strong, and now we layer the flesh, shaping and refining the material with patience - no haste, no compromise. But amidst the enchantment of this creation, one song has already emerged in full form. A piece titled “Kom Hädan” - the fourth to be recorded - stands complete, bearing the weight of its own power. So we have chosen this track to serve as a taste of what lies ahead. Let it be known, though: “Kom Hädan” is no mirror of the whole. The world which we are weaving spans a vast spectrum - from the depths of dark ambient to moments that brush against black metal’s cold edge, from primal percussion to trance-like soundscapes, tranquil interludes, and threads of poetry entwined with bewitching voices. Each piece speaks its own truth, and the full album will shift and flow like a restless spirit. For now, we walk this path with “Kom Hädan”. Perhaps, as the journey unfolds, we will unveil another fragment of what is to come. Until then, join us as we step into our dreams. Follow the echoes, and let “Kom Hädan” guide you...
And within Kom Hädan itself, there is a division - two forces entwined yet distinct. Kom emerges first, like a whispered invocation, a beckoning prelude that sets the path in motion. Then comes Hädan, the true crossing, where the veil parts, and the full weight unfolds. One invites, the other carries away. Together, they form a threshold, a passage.

‘Kom Hädan’ expresses a dark finality, an invitation to leave the familiar behind. It is as much a command as a plea from the shadows, to join in on a journey beyond what we know as real. This involves not only physical movement forward but a total transition into the unknown, perhaps even beyond the limits of earthly life... The voices carry a tone of relentlessness from something ancient beyond, calling out. They convey that this is an unavoidable journey - a passage that awaits all. There is an outstretched thread that we must follow.
"We follow the thread, we are spent! We follow the path, we pass!"
Meanwhile, there is a warmth in the call, someone to meet there beyond, something to discover in the obscure. ‘Kom Hädan’ invites us to reflect on the transformation that no one can avoid, but which can be difficult to face with eyes open. Come beyond now... Begin in what is still obscured in darkness.

We are deep in the midst of our creative process, embarking on a chaotic and unpredictable journey. We don't yet fully know how it will sound — it remains shrouded in mystery. What we can share is that our first raw offering is planned for release in the spring of 2025. More will be revealed when the time is right.
